Dear friends of LPOS,
I was hoping that we might have some positive news from the government about the reopening of live theatre and music venues.
Sadly, this hoped-for news has not yet arrived, and groups such as LPOS are unable to make concrete plans. The roadmap for live theatre and music venues, announced on 25 June, still has no timescale.
At present, government advice is that communal singing should not take place. Large-scale musical performances in the local area have been cancelled or postponed until 2021.
This has led the committee to reach the difficult but inevitable, decision to change our plans again. Our production of The Baker's Wife which was to take place in April 2021 has now been rescheduled for April 2022.
I know that this will be very disappointing for you as it is for LPOS.
I'd like to thank you for your continued support and hope you are all keeping well. I look forward to seeing you when it is safe to do so.
Chairman, Littlehampton Players Operatic Society (LPOS)
